What a time the Greenie Gang had at the Galway St. Patricks Festival.  There was Greenie, the Greenie Land 'Celebration of Growth' float, Morag Kelly & Michael Duggan (Greenie's creators), loads of Greenie helpers and the kids, parents and teachers of St. John the Apostle Knocknacarra National School.  A BIG thank you to one and all for making it such a great day! It was indeed a fantastic celebration of GREEN.

Look how well our Greenie Land 'Celebration of Growth' float turned out!  We hope you agree it fit well with this years Galway St. Patricks Festival theme - GREEN!

A big congratulations to Kay Woodcock and Denis Browne our chief float builders on doing such a good job.  Three weeks is not a big turn around time and they worked extremly hard!

Once the float set off the kids intermittently sang the Greenie Land tune and we were delighted with the applause from the huge crowd.

It could not have been completed without the help from the Sandy Road VEC students.  How can we thank them enough for the use of their amazing facility and for the help and enthusiasm supplied by both the students and tutors.

The VEC butterfly produced by tutor Mary and the textiles class turned out a treat and the multicolured leaves produced by the art class and tutor Dave worked really well in the wind!

Greenie led proceedings and the gang were joined by Kitty Scully RTE TV presenter of ‘How to Create a Garden’, children, parents and teachers from St. John the Apostle Knocknacarra National School and other Greenie helpers.

This was the largest St Patrick's Day Parade in Years with over 80 groups participating.  Check out more photos of the day and of the kids enjoying the parade on our facebook page.

Also, we have great video footage of Greenie, the Greenie Land float and all the kids parading through Eyre square.

A BIG thank you again to one and all for making it such a great day!
